Important: This page explains how to permanently delete your Clap Stars account and what data will be removed from our systems.
How to Delete Your Account
Method 1: In-App Account Deletion (Recommended)
You can delete your account directly from the Clap Stars app:
- 1Open the Clap Stars app on your device
- 2Go to the Profile section
- 3Tap Delete account
- 4Type your account email to confirm
- 5Tap Delete. Your account will be permanently deleted
Method 2: Contact Us
If you cannot access the app or encounter issues with in-app deletion, you can request account deletion by email:

Please include:
- The email address associated with your Google sign-in, if you used Google sign-in
- Your Clap Stars Firebase user ID, if available from the Profile screen
- A clear request to delete your account
Response time: We will process your request within 30 days of receiving it.
What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Authentication Data: Anonymous or Google-linked Firebase authentication record
- User Profile: Favorites, selected star and last selected favorite stored under your user ID
- Private fan contributions: Your aggregate and per-star contribution history across every season stored under your user ID
- Public fan profile entries: Username, photo and contribution entries shown in public fan rankings across every season. This immediate deletion does not rely on the normal 12-month expiry
- Reserved username: The username reservation associated with your user ID
- Account identifiers: Firebase user ID and Google-linked account data stored by Clap Stars, where applicable
- Clap submission helper records: Processed batch/rate-limit records associated with your user ID when technically feasible and no longer required for service integrity
Warning: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
Data Not Affected by Deletion
Some data is not personal account data and may remain:
- Public star records: Stars/entities created from public Wikipedia/Wikidata information may remain as public catalog entries
- Aggregated seasonal star rankings and Hall of Fame: Public competition totals and achievements may remain because they are aggregated game data and do not identify the contributing fan
- Local device data: Local-only clicker economy data can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
Data Retention
After account deletion, Clap Stars does not retain any personally identifiable information. However:
- Aggregated Analytics: Aggregated or non-identifying analytics and crash data may be retained according to Firebase/Google retention settings
- Legal Compliance: Limited records may be retained if required by law, to prevent abuse, or to protect service integrity
No personal data that can identify you is retained after account deletion. Public fan rows are deleted across all seasons. Aggregated star results and Hall of Fame achievements remain without your fan identity.
